Comment from Nayeli:

My name is Nayeli.
I am from Germany, but my father is from Mexico.
The last time I visited Mexico, I was 6 years old.

I have blurry but beautiful memories from back then.
Dancing with my family, great food, amazing landscapes.
Free and careless. Well, that was how I experienced Mexico as a child.
Now I am 24 years old. Mexico is beautiful, but sadly, Mexico is tainted.
People fail to see the beauty of Mexico, mostly because of the media and they only see the poverty and the danger that are unfortunately present since the longest time.
Mexico’s beauty is buried by the crimes of men. Today I want to talk about an emotion.

Rage.

An emotion that is unpleasant but necessary.
The urge to fight something that goes against our values and to fight the vulnerable state it has left us in.

There is rage when we see injustice. There is rage when we feel injustice.
There is rage when we cannot understand why this injustice exists.

As a woman you are born into injustice.
How great the injustice is depends on where you are born, who you are born as and if there is change around you.

Mexican women have been disappearing-

Have been killed. Have been tortured.
For no reason and for the longest time with no signs of change.

The injustice that these women suffer is unimaginable.
Their sisters, their mothers, their daughters, their granddaughters, their aunts are getting tortured, raped, killed. Some of their bodies never to be found.

And nothing changes. Because no one knows.

Even my father who shed tears because of the injustice that happens in Mexico everyday says there’s nothing I can do. But how could I know about this and not try to do anything?
There is something we could do, right?

They are fighting for their lives and for their freedom.
Women should not fear to experience the worst that could be inflicted on humans.
Women deserve to live and to die as free as everyone else.
We cannot do much but we can listen to their stories and acknowledge that their suffering exists.
Be their voice and hope that someone that can change the situation will listen and act.

Talk about injustice.
Use your own ways to create another voice or give voices the power to be heard.
Don’t let silence win.

People from the United States especially: Be mindful with what you buy. Companies exploit Mexican women and put them in these dangerous situations.
Demand justice. Go thrift shopping. Simple things can change a lot sometimes.
Don’t treat the people from Mexico as greedy illegals. There is a reason why people need to leave their country.
No one wants to lose their home. Be kind and think about others.
Hold your government accountable. Your politicians don’t care that they are also responsible for Mexico’s suffering.

To the Mexican government: Give women the freedom they deserve as they are human beings like anyone else.
There is no reason to treat women worse than men. You have blood on your hands.
And the only thing you can do to be fogiven is to act and give Mexian women - your people - justice.

To the man robbing a woman’s freedom: It is not the woman’s fault that she suffers.
It is yours alone and it is you, the predator, that should be held responsible.
You chose to hurt her.  And you don’t deserve any sympathy. You are dangerous and disgusting.

You’re guilty. You failed her. You’re the predator.

El violador eres tú.

To LASTESIS, the feminist collective from Chile: You have inspired many women around the world to protest for their rights.
And your movement has inspired me to make this track.
Thank you for everything you’ve done and for everything that you will continue to do for women.

To all the women fighting: I am so sorry that you have to go through this.
I hope that you will get the justice that you deserve and I will support you until you don’t have to fight anymore.
You are strong and your fight is not unnoticed.
There is not much I can do but I made this for you, the women without freedom.
Las mujeres merecen justicia. En todo el mundo. En México.
